Celebrating 25 years of the Pink Ladies Guernsey

Est. 2001, we are Guernsey’s Breast Cancer Charity; offering support to anyone affected by breast cancer in the Bailiwick, along with raising awareness of breast health.

Join us on Saturday 16th May at the Mallard Cinema for a private screening of Michael Jacksons movie.

Let your toes tap, dance like no one is watching, moonwalk across the floor. The purpose of this screening is to allow yourself to immerse yourself in the music whilst raising money for a great cause.

Founded in 2001 by a group of women supporting each other through their breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, the Pink Ladies Charity is dedicated to raising awareness, encouraging self-checks, and offering a variety of support options to anyone affected by breast cancer in the Bailiwick of Guernsey.

Support

“My breast cancer had been growing for 18 months when I was diagnosed. If I had been checking, it’s highly likely I could have caught it sooner. I have to live with that,”

~ Gemma, 42, diagnosed July 2024 with Advance Breast Cancer, stage 3. Read her story here

Supporting you

Since being founded in 2001, the incredible generosity of the Bailiwick community has raised nearly a million pounds, a clear testament to the compassion that exists among us. This vital support enables us to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer. By driving awareness for early detection, and supporting those affected.

In the Community

Playing an active role in our island community is really important to us. Whether it’s events, support groups, or suggesting all kinds of resources to navigate a breast cancer diagnosis, we want to be there for anyone affected. Feeling isolated and alone is really common, our aim is to create a safe space for people to connect.

Raising Awareness

We want to help as many people as we can to recognise anything unusual as early as possible and do something about it. Early detection is fundamental to increasing the number of successful outcomes. Educating on the signs and symptoms and encouraging regular self checks is our goal. Breast cancer is most treatable in its initial stages so being confident in knowing what to look for and how to do it, empowers us all to get medical advice promptly.

How well do you know your body?

Try to do self-checks every month; it’s a great way to get to know your body so you can pick up any changes fast.

A note on terms we use:

Breast cancer can affect anybody, which is why we may alternate the term to be actively inclusive in our language. The word ‘chest’ is inclusive of all bodies and genders, when we need to be clinically accurate we will use the word ‘breast’, and you may also see ‘boobs’ used in our communications.
