Community is everything
The Pink Ladies charity, a proud member of the Association of Guernsey Charities (membership no. 252), was established in 2001 by a group of local women undergoing breast cancer treatment. They sought to create a safe, comforting, and supportive environment for others facing similar challenges. Embracing the spirit of camaraderie, they chose the name "The Pink Ladies," inspired by the powerful symbol of the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign. Their passion and drive were fueled by a heartfelt desire to create a welcoming community where women could come together, share their experiences, and uplift one another. Through their dedication, they established a nurturing space that continues to support and inspire hope among those affected by breast cancer in The Bailiwick of Guernsey.
In recent years, the charity’s mission has evolved to place greater emphasis on empowering the wider community around breast health awareness and self-care; building on the support and values that have always been at the heart of the Pink Ladies. While continuing its commitment to support anyone impacted by breast cancer in the Bailiwick, through practical and well-being support, the charity is increasingly focused on early detection and helping people to recognise and understand changes in their breast health, particularly among younger individuals where embedding the habit of checking is simply a great routine to get into from a younger age.
The Pink Ladies are dedicated to positively impacting lives before, during, and after a breast cancer diagnosis. They never want anyone to feel alone.
